Hi, I’m Sarah from Rainbow Family Day Care, South Bunbury. I hold my Cert III and Diploma in Children’s Services . I have over 9 years experience working in Family Day Care and children’s services and over 19 years being a Mum. My husband and I have three children of our own. Our daughter, Niamh, is also the Education Assistant /Relief Educator for College Grove Family Day Care. This enables us to provide continuity of service and extended hours when requested.
I value experiences in nature over staged activities as I believe this allows children to learn at their own pace while exploring ideas and concepts relevant to their personal learning stages. I aim to facilitate children’s play rather than instigate or lead in activities.
Excursions and outings are at the core of my service, connecting my Day Care Children with their local community via play cafe, play groups, library visits, community garden days amongst many other activities which are linked to the EYLF
Philosophy of the Service
To provide a service which enables children to learn, grow and be cared for in a safe and secure environment with clear boundaries with regard to expected and acceptable behaviour.
To take account of individual needs, diversity, ethnicity and cultural backgrounds, enabling all round learning and varied experiences.
To respect each other as individuals.
To provide a diverse learning experience.
To care for the environment and help children become aware of sustainability by practicing reduce, reuse, recycle and repurposing activities as part of every day routines.
