Hi, I’m Bec from Little Gumnuts Family Day Care in East Victoria Park.

I have worked in the early childhood industry for many years and am very proud to welcome you and your family into my home, which is the setting for Little Gumnuts Family Daycare.

I have a passion for quality early childhood education and believe that each and every child deserves nothing less. I like to spend a lot of time interacting with the children, engaging with them through play as well as setting up and guiding them through stimulating experiences throughout the day. I believe that learning is happening all the time and in all situations.

I believe that the environment plays a major role in the success of an early childhood program. The environment here at Little Gumnuts is set mindfully to engage and inspire the children, no matter their age. Nature-based play, sustainable practices, real life and hands-on experiences are a real passion of mine and I will introduce each child to many aspects of these.

Community and parent involvement is welcomed with open arms. I hope to form a positive partnership with each parent and their family through conversation, observations, learning stories and planning. Verbally or through Story Park. This partnership will assist in the child reaching their full potential.

I aim to provide opportunities for each child to reach their full potential in a supportive and caring environment. I see each child as a unique individual with a great capacity to learn and make positive contributions to the world around them.

The Reggio Emilia and Montessori approaches to learning have inspired me greatly. I will incorporate aspects of these into daily routines at Little Gumnuts.

The Little Gumnuts program embraces the principles, practice and outcomes outlined in the Early Years Learning Framework and the National Quality Standards. The program is delivered by myself whilst upholding the values of the Early Childhood Australia code of Ethics and United Nations rights of the child.
