ABOUT

ABOUT

I acknowledge and pay my respects to the traditional owners of the land on which we learn and play; The Whadjuk Noongar People. I believe that our children need to know and understand the traditional history of our land and its people. Noongar language and teachings will be imbedded in our practices and program of learning.

Children are our future and need to be nurtured and accepted for who they are and who they are to become. Their views, opinions, strengths, skills and interests will dictate the program of learning in the service.

Every child is unique, special and has many different qualities, it is my job to assist every child to learn and grow as individuals and for them to learn and appreciate their value in our community.

Diversity in children and families will be accepted, encouraged and celebrated. All abilities, cultures, beliefs and family circumstances will be respected, embraced and valued.

I believe that family relationships are the most important relationships in assisting children to feel secure, therefore the relationship between children and their family will be respected and nurtured.

Children learn through play and as such, they will be given every opportunity to engage in play that is fun and meaningful, as well as age and developmentally appropriate

I believe that the natural world has incredible value to all of us and children will learn to respect and care for our world along with being given opportunities to discover natural beauty through play. The outdoor environment provides a magical place for learning and as such children will be encouraged to play outside as much as possible. We live in an area surrounded by many natural wonders and we will spend time exploring and learning about our local bushland areas

Children are creative beings and they will be given opportunity to express this creativity in a variety of different ways using both adult directed and child

I believe that music is fun, healing and energising and children will be given the opportunity to listen to, make and enjoy many different types of music.
