KAYA AND WANJU (HELLO AND WELCOME)

My name is Leanne, and I am the proud owner of Leanne’s Family Day Care here in Canning vale. I have been a part of the Canning vale community since 2005 and am commitment to providing excellence in early childhood education.   With over 15 years of experience in the childcare industry and holding a diploma qualification in both Early Childhood Education and Education Assistant, I can provide individual planning and programming for each child’s learning centred around their interests and their own specific needs, guided by the National Quality Standards, the Early Years Learning Framework, and the School Aged Care Learning Framework - My Time, Our Place.

I embrace a holistic philosophy that follows the Hygge concept and nurtures and supports the well-being of each child in my care. I believe that every child is a unique individual with their own set of strengths and interests. My approach focuses on fostering their physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development within a warm and inclusive environment where children feel safe to explore, learn, and grow. This provides opportunities for children to reach their potential, in all areas of their development: physical health and mental wellbeing, social, emotional, language and cognitive development. I will uphold both the Early Childhood Australia’s Code of Ethics and the UN Rights of The Child within my service.

I also feel that children are best supported by drawing perspective and insight from many different branches of learning, philosophies, and pedagogy. As such, our practice, pedagogy, and learning environments are informed by the schools of Reggio Emilia, Howard Gardner’s multiple intelligences, Rudolf Steiner, and Maria Montessori. I believe respect for each child and their family is paramount and is expressed through listening, observing, and interacting with families, I recognise that the family is the child’s first and most important teacher and that parents are viewed as partners, collaborators, and advocates for their children. I embrace cultural diversity, respecting family’s values, beliefs, cultural backgrounds, traditions, life experiences and knowledge. Families are encouraged to share their culture, language, and experiences with myself so that we can each learn as a community. I also aim to provide a comprehensive service to make your life easier and as I understand the practical needs of families, I provide nappies, wipes, nappy cream, sunscreen, and all meals/snacks. When it comes to sleep, I provide a cozy sleep area that is warm, restful, with aromatic ambiance for peaceful naps, whilst our babies have their own dedicated sleep area that allows me to follow sleep routines that you have at home.
