Welcome to Happy At Home Family Day Care, I have been operating my Family Day Care Service for over 15 years and prior to that I worked for the ANZ bank. My name is Jo but affectionately nicknamed Jo Jo by my little friends! I am a mum of 3 amazing grown children two sons Bailey (21) Clay (23) & my daughter Stephanie (28). My daughter is now also a mummy and I am a very proud nanna to my grandson Harvey and grand daughter Eliza! My decision to develop my own Family Day Care Business was driven by a passion in caring for & educating children, a desire to run my own business and provide a service for children that gives them a warm friendly inviting home away from home experience. My son Bailey never settled into mainstream day care and I dreamed of providing a warm welcoming environment especially for children like him who struggled with the larger centres. I believe I have successfully, happily & proudly achieved my goal!

I am qualified with my cert 111 in children’s services and have obtained all other relevant training required to run my FDC including senior first aid, food safety, child protection, national police clearance & working with children check. Family members living in my home over 18 also have a working with children clearance and National Police clearance. My training is always ongoing and kept up to date.

I believe that children need to feel safe, secure and happy in the Family Day Care setting.

I will make children feel welcome by being caring, considerate and by providing an environment in which the children enjoy playing and being with each other.

I believe that children need to be able to express themselves, which I find they can do through creative arts, outside play and interacting with other children and other adults.

I believe that the children should be able to have a choice of what they would like to achieve throughout the day as well as some structured play, it should be the child’s choice to become involved in the structured play.

The environment will be safe for children and they will be encouraged to care for the environment as a part of the daily routine. At Happy at Home Family Day Care Service we aim to develop secure and respectful relationships with all parties.
